Water Polo: The Ladies of ONN Aim to Claim Their Second French Championship Title
After a loss to Nancy (7-6) in last week’s first leg of the final, Vincent De Nardiโs girls must win the return match Saturday evening in hope of a tie-breaker game on Sunday morning (10 AM) to lift the trophy. Having led for three quarters, the Nice team collapsed in the fourth quarter. It was a tough defeat for ON’s young women, who must rally before their home crowd.
Come in great numbers to support the ladies of ONN in the return final against Nancy this Saturday at 8 PM at Jean Bouin swimming pool. They need all the cheering to secure this title.
Comments from Vincent De Nardi: “We were undefeated all season and then lost the match that mattered most. Now, Nancy is in an advantageous position. The title will come down to desire, determination, and freshness. We are backed into a corner; we’ll see how we react in this situation.”

France Championship: Triathlon: The Next Generation Emerges
Following in the footsteps of their elders, Johanna Daumas, Christel Robin, Renaud Cadiรจre, Thomas Leth Olsen, and even Antoine Guiliani, recent 5th place finisher at the junior French duathlon championship, the young triathletes from Olympic Nice Natation are making their mark. During the qualifying rounds for the France Championships, held in St Raphaรซl and Cannes, six of them secured their spots for Poitiers this weekend. Under the guidance of Flora Robellaz and Mickaรซl Ayassami, these young hopefuls did not miss their chance at the qualifiers. In St Raphaรซl on April 27, the youngest, Charlotte Boulet, excelled in a highly competitive event, climbing to the third step of the podium and thereby securing her place. Among the boys, Guillaume Hartmann and Lรฉo Fernandez, ranking 10th and 13th in the juniors respectively, also qualified. For the younger competitors, it all came down to Cannes. There, without surprises, Sebastien Hartmann, the youngest of them all, grabbed the first ticket after a very promising race, followed by his club mate Guillaume Szamburski, a model of tenacity. Among the young girls, Romane Tedesco overcame the adversities of a 2007 season marred by injuries, clinching a beautiful third place, and will also make the trip to Poitiers. In total, six triathletes will proudly represent ONN in the Poitevin capital on May 24th. As more than mere contenders, Flora’s and Mickaรซl’s protรฉgรฉs will give their best during the national final, hoping to one day dominate the senior podiums like their predecessors…
