Cruel choice for this last evening of the 31st Bลuf Thรฉรขtre presented by the Thรฉรขtre de la Marguerite in Antibes and in several municipalities of the Sophia-Antipolis Urban Community (CASA). Two “one-woman shows” in Villeneuve-Loubet with the brunette Fanny Mermet โ seen in Antibes in September 2007 โ and in Juan les Pins with the blonde Karine Lyachenko, and an improvisation show in La Colle-sur-Loup with the Zappapeurs.
We will give an additional spotlight on the latter because not only is it uncommon, since this troupe is based in Antibes, but especially because of the extraordinary personality of the “guest star”, Elliot. One should rather speak of a “self guest-star” if that is a thing because the person who enjoys international fame with his timeless show has given an invaluable gift to the organizers and to the Antibes troupe of the Zappapeurs by announcing not only his presence but especially his participation in the show in La Colle-sur-Loup. No one expected it.
With this guy on stage, particularly in “impro”, you can expect a flurry of laughter like on Wednesday night, under the tent of the Palais des Congrรจs in Antibes Juan les Pins where there wasnโt a single seat left to applaud this utterly amazing Belgian. He plays with everything, dances, sings, and can make people burst into laughter without uttering a word โ only with his grimaces, mimics, physical prowess, and extraordinary gestures.
So if youโre not afraid of having your zygomatics (facial muscles) burst from laughter with completely crazy individuals, donโt hesitate, this Zappapeurs show is meant for you.
Zap like Zapping and Papeurs like “Iโm not afraid to do anything”. What is it about? At first, you are welcomed by the actresses who seat you, and it already surprises, but you are not at the end of your surprises. Rest assured, no one lisp in this entirely interactive show, and surely even more so with the presence of Elliot.
As you may have guessed, the audience is also the author, and it is a real juggling act without a net and within a time frame set by the troupe itself. The interactivity is complete with these Zappapeurs who have chosen to break free from the traditional path of improvisational matches โ from which they originated โ to give free rein to their desires in order to involve the spectators even more in their madness. As the generic theme of the evening should be the funfair, it promises to be full of good laughs!
