This Sunday, June 1st, Square Leclerc hosts the first edition of the Giant Pink Zumba, an event organized by the SOS Breast Cancer association to raise awareness about cancer prevention and promote physical activity.
On Sunday morning, at 9 a.m., participants are expected on the lawn of Square Leclerc, in the heart of the Promenade du Paillon in Nice. At 9:30 a.m., the music starts. For 1 hour and 30 minutes, Latin rhythms will lead the participants in a group Zumba session.
This initiative, supported by the SOS Breast Cancer association, aims to offer everyone a moment of energy. Regardless of age or level, everyone is invited to come alone, with family, or with friends. The atmosphere is intended to be caring and dynamic.
The session is led by a Zumba instructor from the association. It will be followed by a wellness-focused snack. The first 150 arrivals will receive a pink t-shirt upon presentation of their ticket. Registration is open online for a contribution of 12 euros.
Dance to Prevent and Support
This event is part of the missions carried out by the association throughout the year. SOS Breast Cancer supports women with gynecological or breast cancers and works with their loved ones. Support includes physical activities or therapies: yoga, kayaking, reflexology, art therapy, pilates, golf, among others. They also organize prevention actions like the Pink Jogging in Nice in October or the Pink Regattas in Antibes.
With this Giant Pink Zumba, the association wishes to remind people of the benefits of regular physical activity. It is now recognized as a non-drug aid during and after illness and plays a role in preventing breast cancer, colon cancer, and cardiovascular diseases.
The event is also an opportunity to spread simple but essential messages: practice physical activity five days a week, listen to your body, see a doctor or gynecologist once a year, have a mammogram every two years starting at age 50.
Supported by the municipality, its Sports Health House, and the Maison 123 brand, this first edition of the Giant Pink Zumba is intended for all women. It is not about performance but about sharing, movement, and self-care.
