The Occult Sciences: Mere Superstition?

Latest News

Premonitory dreams, superstitions, and unexplained events were in the spotlight on Thursday, February 23, during a conference-debate organized by the Italie-Cรดte d’Azur association, which gathered numerous attendees. The supernatural! This theme was led by Daniรจle Chandelier, a professor in “parapsychology”. On this occasion, she shared her experience and prompted the curious to engage in numerous reflections.

She is not only a professor but also a psychic. She believes in the supernatural but relies on concrete evidence. Daniรจle Chandelier has a quite unique background. Born into a family of scientists, this woman was not predestined to take an interest in the occult sciences. However, by the age of seven, she was already exposed to death. And she would have serious health issues until she was 25.

Such experiences led Ms. Chandelier to study the supernatural. Armed with a degree in psychology, she is also specialized in parapsychology. Despite the non-existence of such a degree in France, she teaches her “paranormal” knowledge at a school in Nice. The curriculum includes memory development, development of intuitive faculties, self-awareness, etc. This professor is convinced: “Everyone has inexplicable abilities. It’s just that many are unaware of it.” She is truly passionate and believes as much in these types of powers as in telepathy and premonition.

To believe or not to believe, that is the question? For a response, she shares a life story that involves her: “I lost my husband in a terrible car accident. And strangely, four days before, I dreamed in detail of this event. I informed my husband. He didn’t want to listen… And everything that I had dreamed happened.” Faced with so many tragedies, this psychic practices a single philosophy: to move forward, to learn from these experiences, and to have self-confidence. Always staying positive, being optimistic, seeing the glass as half full rather than half empty. That is the secret of success!

Passionate about the paranormal, this psychic is also fond of mythology and stories. This even led her to name her dog Mรฉlusine, after the “kind” fairy of the same name! This varied interest is due to the result of much research. According to her, behind every bizarre event, behind each story hides a certain form of reality.

Even if this statement does not convince everyone, it is certainly true for some superstitions. For example, why is it said that walking under a ladder brings bad luck? Perhaps simply because it’s dangerous! Another example is the unlucky number. In Roman times, the number that everyone feared was 17, because in Roman numerals 17 means “I have lived” and thus represented the end of life in the minds of contemporaries.

On the subject of life, the parapsychologist has some thoughts to share. Are we masters of our destiny or is each individual’s fate predetermined? The words are released! Monique Chandelier has a metaphor to give her point of view: Life, a house where the walls already exist, but the owner can make modifications inside.

After such a speech, the Canadian ambassador, Suzanne Laverdure, present on this occasion, said she was delighted to have attended. “What struck me most was the positive message that this professor conveyed. Seeing things positively colors everyday life. That suits my personality. The conference allowed me to affirm my views on life. In my view, pessimism is paralyzing. As for the world of the supernatural, I find it fascinating.”

The same satisfaction was expressed by Monique Peyrat. “I believe in superstitions and even consult mediums from time to time. This inexplicable world exists all around us. I do not say this without foundation: I sometimes have premonitory dreams. The supernatural is extraordinary!”

After such emotions, a question might intrigue more than one: Is it because we cannot explain certain paranormal things that they do not exist?”

The personalities present at this conference included:
– The mayor’s wife of Nice, Monique Peyrat.
– The Canadian ambassador, Suzanne Laverdure.
– The president of Lions Nice club Victoire, Diane Albertini.
– The vice-consul of the Italian Consulate, Eugenio Ladovaz.
