It was predictable: France was going to experience an aging population. In 2010, the country underwent an inversion of the age pyramid. This is due to a decline in fertility and an increase in life expectancy facilitated by lifestyle hygiene and modern medicine. To address this, personal service professions are favored by job seekers as well as professionals in this sector. Thus, on January 14, the General Council of Alpes-Maritimes will highlight these professions in an informational meeting. The objective: to present the job market in the sector and mobilize people seeking employment or professional retraining.
Since personal assistance cannot be improvised, it is necessary to undergo training. The General Council funds training from February 8 to April 2, 2010. Working with elderly, disabled, or sick people requires some qualifications. This training will include both practical and theoretical components. The training is not paid, but participants will have their allowances maintained according to their statuses. They will also benefit from a flat-rate support of 12 euros per day.
The training will be offered approximately every two months in the East and West areas of the department. Fourteen people can participate.
