To celebrate the arrival of spring, the town of Théoule-sur-mer is organizing the fifth edition of “Théoule Art et Fleurs,” which will be held on Saturday, April 9, and Sunday, April 10, 2011.
This year, the Netherlands is in the spotlight with approximately 3000 tulips on display, Dutch cheese tasting, a stand by a Dutch florist, a presentation of about twenty posters on the history of Dutch flowers, and the screening of two films: one on a traditional flower parade and the other on the magnificent Keukenhof garden.
This event takes place in the heart of the village with exhibitions-sales, stands, and various activities on Place Général Bertrand or at Villa La Paix, notably featuring activities from the OMAL, such as sewing, silk painting, and photography.
The flowers and plants presented by horticulturists and nurserymen are predominantly locally produced. Visitors will find a variety of flowers and shrubs on the stalls at Place Général Bertrand, along with maintenance tips to ensure successful planting.
As in the previous year, a regional floral arrangement competition will be organized in partnership with the Floral School of Cannes, taking place at the Espace Culturel, avenue Charles Dahon. This year’s theme is “A Dutch Stroll,” highlighting the “Queen Tulip.” Four categories have been planned: No. 1 “Windmill,” No. 2 “Along the Canals,” No. 3 “Tulipomania,” and No. 4 “The Netherlands as We Eat It.”
