0/7, 2/11, unfortunately it wasn’t a plug – momentarily salvaging – hit by Puccinelli, that would write the future of this game in the long run. Nothing worked, not even this change at the 5th round (1/9), with the entry of a particularly impatient Puccinelli eager to shine before his audience, taking the place of a reluctantly consentant Maison Durk eager to leave his post.
From the bench, Simon Cortès watched the performance of his friends from the summer series, busy securing him the first star missing from his already rich record, while Suchaud pinned a fourth star to his chest without shame or boast. Suchaud to the letter, indeed!
26/5 in the semi-final
The scenario of the semi-finals had already set the stage for this quickly wrapped-up final. With Radnic swiftly sealing the fate of the French team, genuinely out of sorts. Grandet, Loy, Miléi (then Hureau, 6th round), never really got into the game, and the final score of 13/2 in favor of the reigning champions clearly shows the gap in this game.
The second clash pitched the youth of Savin against the experience of Quintais. Here too, the youngsters will have to try again. In this duel of generations, only Savin was somewhat up to his talent. Sévilla squandered his performance with poor shooting, and his replacement by Molinas (3/11, 7th round) did not provide the necessary shock. 13/3, that says it all. Ah no, not quite. The youngsters will have to wait a while before hoping to push the veterans toward some semblance of retirement.
