On Monday, May 2, 2011, at 4 PM at the Maison des Parents, Eric Ciotti, Deputy and President of the General Council of Alpes-Maritimes, will launch a campaign to promote the profession of “Family Assistant”.
The General Council is innovating in the field of family care by developing diverse solutions that allow for a personalized approach to the needs of children, and by renewing generations through the replacement of family assistants who are retiring.
An exciting profession in the service of child protection
The family assistant provides care within their family, day and night, for minors whose parents are temporarily unable to manage daily life. With all the people residing in their home, they form a foster family for the child or young person, providing living conditions that allow them to continue their development in a harmonious environment.
The family assistant must obtain approval from the General Council and sign a work contract with an institutional employer to accommodate up to 3 children under 21 years old.
In 2011, the General Council will devote nearly 97 million euros to child protection, and no fewer than 1,000 staff members within the General Council are mobilized to implement these actions.
We count on your presence at the presentation of the family assistant profession and thank you in advance for the attention you will give it.
