After a “hot” summer season, the Fontanil district in Drap is now living to the rhythm of construction work on the René Goscinny high school.
Like a comic strip by René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo, the high school in the Vallée des Paillons has been a real adventure.
For ten years, and up until the start of the construction, the elected officials of the Vallée des Paillons, teachers, parents of students, and future high schoolers have fought stubbornly for the construction of a high school in the Vallée des Paillons.
Today, after overcoming a final reversal from the state, the construction of the René Goscinny high school has resumed. Since the end of September, diggers, bulldozers, and trucks have moved in to “shake up the earth.”
With the start of the first phase of earthworks, a
“ray of sunshine” is finally illuminating the site. “Here, we are preparing
the ground to build the gymnasium, which will be located across from
the athletics track. On the upper side, we are doing earthworks
to build housing for staff. At the same time,
we are preparing the access road to the teaching area,”
says the site manager. The construction of the high school is indeed
well underway.
And if the work continues without delay,
this general education institution will open at the start
of the 2012 school year.
