Presentation of the 2011 Grand Prix of the City of Nice, awarded by the Committee of Dean Jean Lรฉpine chaired by Vรฉronique Paquis.
In addition to financial support aimed at supporting initiatives from the University of Nice Sophia-Antipolis, totaling โฌ40,000, members of the Committee of Dean Jean Lรฉpine have the opportunity to honor an individual whose career and work have contributed to the prominence of the City of Nice.
This year, for the first time, two Grand Prix awards worth โฌ15,000 each will be presented to Marie-Pierre Langlamet, harpist, and Minoo Rassoulzadegan, scientist.
*Marie-Pierre Langlamet* pursued her musical studies at the conservatory of Nice. At just 17, she secured the position of principal harpist at the Philharmonic Orchestra of Nice. As a Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters, she has won numerous international awards. In 1993, she became the principal harpist of the Berlin Philharmonic. Since 1995, Marie-Pierre Langlamet has been teaching at the Herbert von Karajan Academy, and since April 2010, she has also been a professor at the “UdK” (University of the Arts) in Berlin.
*Minoo Rassoulzadegan* studied at the University of Nice. In 1976, she joined Franรงois Cuzin’s lab as a doctoral student in molecular biology. Internationally known for her work on mouse genetics, she has been the head of Inserm Unit 636 of genetics at the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis since 2004.
During this ceremony, a special distinction will be awarded to Professor Lazdunski, who received the gold medal in Medicine from the Ernst JUNG Foundation in 2011.
