PS Primaries: Is the city of Nice not included in Parisian forecasts?

Latest News

Yesterday, a press release finalized the decision to hold primaries in about ten large French cities on Saturday, April 13. Cities like Marseille, Aix, Le Havre are confirmed to have the choice, while Clermont-Ferrand, Montauban, and Montpellier fall in the category of outsiders, whereas Agen, Saint-Brieuc, Albi, Nรฎmes, and Perpignan have been considered. However, no mention of Nice on the horizon, even asโ€ฆ

primaires_nice_vote-2.jpg Everything seems to suggest that Nice will not have its primaries, and logically, it will be Patrick Allemand who will take on the role of candidate, having already tried it on several times.

Nice Premium, which launched an operation last week on voting intentions in the event of left-wing primaries in Nice, in no way wishes to be considered a polling institute nor a media outlet swayed by any of the various factions involved in this choice. This virtual consultation certainly has its limitations, and we have attempted to eliminate the observed irregularities (unfortunately) caused by multiple votes as best as possible.

In short, despite this somewhat indigestible filtering process, there remain 1,223 voters, proving that there is indeed a genuine desire for choice regarding the nomination of the next left-wing candidate for the 2014 municipal elections.

And now?

Rumors are already circulating rapidly in circles that are more or less well-informed, and it seems that a left-leaning list, in the sense that the head of the list is clearly identified with the left but not necessarily closed to more right-leaning perspectives (to their left), is on the horizon for 2014.

On the right, if it is almost certain that Christian Estrosi will be in the race, there will be keen attention on his running mates and close team, which is gradually emerging with the approach of next year’s major electoral event. The Mayor of Nice will also have to face “opponents” within his own camp, like Jean Icart, already self-declared as a candidate for the next municipal elections, but not forgetting Olivier Bettati and Marouane Bouloudhnine, who, if they once did, have certainly returned their membership cards to the association “Friends of the Mayor”.

In short, the battles promise to be fierce in Nice, and the outcome of the war seems a little less predictable, especially as there is still no clear idea of who will bear the colors of the National Front. A decision will likely be announced at the end of the week during a press conference.

Primaries will certainly not take place in Nice, or let’s say they will just be postponed by a little year to finally occur during the next municipal election.

No way, seriously!
