The Italian elections in Nice

Latest News

From March 22 to 26, the 3,520,809 Italians residing abroad, including 2,039,149 residing in Europe, received by mail the materials that will allow them to vote in the upcoming political elections on April 9 and 10, 2006.

Indeed, abroad, voting is not done in electoral precincts but by mail, so the essential condition for exercising one’s right to vote is to be registered in the Registry of Italians Residing Abroad: “AIRE.”

If the voting packet has not arrived by March 26, 2006, the voter must contact the Consulate to verify their registration in the registry and possibly retrieve a duplicate of the electoral packet.

In any case, the ballot papers must reach the Consulate by mail no later than April 6, 2006, before 4:00 PM, after which any voting packet will be destroyed.

For any difficulties, Italian voters may contact the Consulate or the COMITES (Committee of Italians Abroad), for now, it is important that this right to vote, won after 50 years of struggle, is truly crowned with success by significant participation.

IMPORTANT: for this occasion, the Italian Consulate in Nice will remain open until the elections from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday to Friday and from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, April 1, and Sunday, April 2.
