5,000 children and young people from Nice are welcomed daily by the 25 municipal leisure centers and 24 associative centers.
The City of Nice has been mobilized to facilitate access to the Animation and Leisure Centers with:
– Centers are open in all neighborhoods of the city (proximity);
– The teams of facilitators are constantly being strengthened,
– The educational projects are structured and the activities are increasingly varied, fun, and educational;
– The registration and payment procedures are simplified.
The number of places in leisure centers has significantly increased: on Wednesdays, the leisure centers under management went from 7 centers and 700 places in 2008 to 26 centers and 1,500 places in 2013.
During school holidays – except summer, the leisure centers under management went from 12 centers and 1,000 places in 2008 to 19 centers and 2,500 places in 2013 (including 1 teenage center Térra’Ventura), while for summer holidays: in 2008, 20 centers and 2,000 places; in 2013: 25 centers and 3,500 places.
The quality of activities has been improved by enhancing the remuneration of temporary facilitators, constituting a permanent team of directors and coordination (10 positions), a training plan for young facilitators, and an activity educational program developed in full consultation with the DDCS (youth and sports).
