Rudy Salles launches the UDI petition for a tax moratorium

What should the opposition do if not oppose? It’s simple and yet complicated because it requires choosing a few good arguments to engage the citizens and especially the voters. And what is more enticing than taxes to create a breach in the heart and reason of each and every one? No sooner said than done, with the help of the internet, which greatly simplifies its organization. A new petition that will give momentum and flair to this political return!

rudy_salles-7.jpg This is the aim of the petition launched by Jean Louis Borloo on behalf of the UDI for implementing a tax moratorium to defend purchasing power: Fewer taxes, more consumption.

An economists’ debate would be required to establish a proven correlation between the two. But ever since economic science (can we still call it science?) has become a part of the media circus, anyone can say whatever they want with full freedom of speech and especially thought!

Here we are, therefore, with this new petition initiated by the UDI, presented by its departmental president, Rudy Salles, known to be a pleasant and measured man.
Nevertheless, he is very critical, on this occasion, of the government’s policy: โ€œBetween the previous and the current five-year term the defense of purchasing power has shifted from a priority to a secondary issue.โ€

And he continues โ€œDuring the election campaign, candidate Franรงois Hollande had promised to tax the rich more. Once elected, President Franรงois Hollande started by taxing all the French. Should I conclude that all the French are rich?โ€

In short, the entire fiscal policy of the government should be reviewed! An objective that will make this petition a beautiful testimony without unfortunately any practical consequence.

However, it will nevertheless be very interesting to know the result to measure the French people’s sentiments regarding their financial situation and their responsiveness to these proposals that reek of populism.

Alongside this โ€œappealโ€ and just out of a duty to inform, Rudy Salles also expressed strong criticism regarding the method chosen by President Hollande, which is quite indigestible to him, and the government on the Syrian issue that will be addressed this Wednesday at the National Assembly.

By requesting a parliamentary vote (which will not take place), at this stage of (mis)information, the centrist deputy would vote against the supposed military intervention.

The opportunity was too good not to mention, in this early autumn which falls within the long electoral campaign for the municipal elections of March 2014, the position of the UDI: โ€œWe were and will remain faithful allies of Christian Estrosi with whom we have formed an alliance. The implementation of his program and governance has satisfied us, so there is no reason to change. We will establish a broad coalition list that we hope the people of Nice will continue to trust.โ€

Regarding the possible list of โ€œanything but Estrosiโ€ that is much talked about behind the scenes of local political life, Rudy Salles has found the eloquence of the lawyer he is: โ€œIt’s a complete nonsense, a marriage of opposites, sour grapes without hope.โ€

Is everything said?
