After a well-deserved vacation and some beautification work, the Théâtre de la Cité has reopened its doors for a new season of rare diversity.
For the third year under the artistic direction of Cie Miranda, the Théâtre de la Cité offers us a new season full of surprises, poetry, and magic, much like the sun puppets by Loïc Bettini that raise the curtain.
The program features 45 shows for all audiences, including 7 new creations, and beautiful theater moments: Jean-Claude Drouot as Jean de La Fontaine, Clémentine Célarié embodying a black person, and Christophe Alévêque in a full-blown couple crisis.
Another highlight, Cie Miranda is offering three shows this year: The Burlesque Odyssey (before a national tour), Love Is a Scoundrel Child adapted from Alan Ayckbourn, and especially the incredible creation of Molière’s Dom Juan by the great Mario Gonzalez, quite the excuse! It also marks the grand return of Rémi Boiron, Louise Bouriffé, Césare Capitani, and Richard Cairaschi.
For young audiences, more than 50 shows will be offered, including a unique “Very Young” program in Nice on Saturdays. Finally, this season, the theater enriches its program and opens up to other horizons with new occasional events focused on music and cinema.
