For the general councilor and ally of Patrick Allemand in the Nice municipal elections, Patrick Mottard: “This Saturday, we could read a new page in Nice-Matin glorifying a municipal list. After the Front de Gauche, it’s Nice Ensemble’s turn, Christian Estrosi’s list, to be in the spotlight with its ethical charter.”
And to continue: “Let’s speak bluntly: the ten proposals put forward are utterly mundane. Indeed, saying, for example, that one must attend meetings regularly and ensure that the opposition is represented in committees (which is… the law!) is utterly insignificant. At this rate, why not include other principles as indispensable as ‘do not swear’ or ‘do not stick chewing gum under the desks in the council chamber’?”
These proposals are also remarkably clumsy. Saying that one should prioritize the general interest, not use one’s position for personal gain, or refuse any interference in public procurement procedures could suggest that this was not the case until now.”
Patrick Mottard going so far as to claim authorship of the text: “In fact, this document is a pale imitation, even a poor plagiarism, of the real ethical charter we proposed to the people of Nice in 2008 with the Nice Autrement list. Readers can also form an opinion on the matter and compare the two texts by visiting our 2008 campaign site.”
