Paul Cuturello (PS): Social housing in Nice? After the wishes, Estrosi’s admissions

Latest News

After the statements from various individuals, the post-municipal controversy has reignited a delicate issue: that of social housing.

cuturello-3.jpg Recent national surveys have highlighted Nice’s delay in complying with the parameters set by law and, more notably, its poor ranking compared to other major French cities. The accusation of opacity in allocations has thus found its place.

The response from Dominique Estrosi-Sassone, the housing authority of Nice, calls for a reply from Paul Cuturello, the housing representative of the Nice Socialist Party.

The two, decidedly, do not like each other very much… :

“The publication in the press of the social housing figures in Nice with 22,794 social housing units, or 12.29%, sounds like a double admission by Christian Estrosi.

An admission of failure with only 1,482 social housing units delivered out of the 5,000 promised in 2008, representing an increase of 0.79% in the city’s social housing rate. We are far from the target, with a shortfall of 14,271 units to reach the 20% established by the SRU law.

An admission of the absence of political will confirmed by Dominique Estrosi-Sassone declaring in the press “that here the objective of the SRU law is impossible to achieve”.

If proof was needed that housing the people of Nice is not and has never been a priority for Christian Estrosi, it is doubly provided here.

It spectacularly illustrates Christian Estrosi’s policy: “Priority to appearances, the necessary will wait”.

There is no doubt that the keynote figure of the Mayor of Nice and the president of the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis will soon respond to all of this.

To be continued…
