Created in August 2000 in Coaraze (Alpes-Maritimes) by the association Le Cadran solaire, Les Rencontres de l’Olivier aim to introduce a wide audience to the sung traditions of the Mediterranean basin. This festival focuses on the discovery of emerging talents.


olivier_coaraze-2.jpg They are intended to be a crossroads for vocal traditions stemming from olive-producing lands. Thus, they allow for exchanges each year between artists representing both foreign repertoires and that of the Southern Alps.

This new edition of Les Rencontres de l’Olivier offers four traditional singing workshops and four concerts.

During these meetings, the following music will be presented: Songs and music from Apulia with Faraualla, polyphonic chants of the Balkans with L’Equipée K, nuevo flamenco from a female perspective with Las Migas, and to conclude, the group Bab Assalam will transport us to the meeting of the West and Sufi Orient.

August 5: Faraualla (Songs and music from Apulia)

August 8: L’Equipée K (Polyphonic chants of the Balkans) / Church

August 9: Bab Assalam (Meeting of the West and Sufi Orient (France-Syria))

August 12: Las Migas (Nuevo flamenco from a female perspective)

The concerts will take place at 9 PM, at Place de l’Eglise
