Until this Monday, the streets of Biot are alive with warm moments of conviviality on the occasion of the Patronal Feast of Saint Julien. The Saint Julien Festival offers numerous opportunities to gather around religious and secular traditions, to dance and listen to music, to participate in or support sports challenges, and even to delight children.
The procession reminds us of traditions anchored in the town’s history, the sports and playful challenges create a joyful excitement, the varied performances set the mood, while children are at the center of attention with bocce contests, face painting sessions, giant games, and the play structure.
The procession orchestrated by the Amicale Biotoise des Traditions accompanies the bust of Saint Julien from the Sainte Marie-Madeleine church in the historic center to the Saint Julien chapel, tracing its path in local history since at least the 17th century. The Provençal mass will take place on Sunday, followed by the farandole offered by the association La Brissaudo.
And, to perfect this return to roots, the Émile Cheval Communal Oven will be open throughout the patronal feast.
The time of balls… Each evening, the Place de Gaulle will be enveloped in a different musical atmosphere.
