In 2015, the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region signed a three-year artistic and cultural partnership agreement with the Forum Jacques Prévert. The AFJP thus became a Regional Center for Cultural Development, joining the Théâtre de Grasse and the Théâtre National de Nice in the Alpes-Maritimes department.

This recognition was welcomed with satisfaction by the municipality: “The city of Carros congratulates the influence of its ambitious cultural project. The nomination of the Forum Jacques Prévert association as a Regional Center for Cultural Development is further proof of the excellent work carried out jointly by our municipality and the Forum Jacques Prévert association. Together, we pursue a single goal: to ensure and develop a culture accessible to all and to offer diversified cultural actions, taking into account the different forms of artistic expression,” declared Mayor Charles Scibetta.

This 3-year contract testifies to the recognition of the work undertaken by the association for over thirty years. This long-term support will contribute to the success of the project, whose reputation extends far beyond the Municipality and the Department.

It revolves around three main objectives:

– Strengthening access to the arts and culture, raising public awareness of creation and artistic practices,

– Cultural development of the territory,

– Support for artistic creation in its diversity.

Indeed, the AFJP offers a transversal project through the programming of live performances (at Salle Juliette Gréco, in apartments, and on the street).

No fewer than 20 shows are programmed per season on average, with special attention paid to regional and, of course, departmental companies.

The association also organizes the Festival “Roulez Carros!” The first street arts festival in the department will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2016, during which around 1600 artists have participated.

Finally, as a cultural center, approved “Youth and Popular Education,” the Forum Jacques Prévert promotes public expression through a program of weekly activities supervised by professionals.

Lastly, how can one forget the Café du Forum where culture is shared with free access and in a friendly manner. It is a place for passage, relaxation, meetings, reading, and encounters.
