On October 15th and 16th, the 17,000 registered voters forming the electoral body will be able to vote (by sending in their ballot) to elect the ecological candidate for the 2017 presidential election.

Four candidates are in the running: Karima Delli (For a Popular Ecology), Cรฉcile Duflot (Tomorrow Belongs to Us), Yannick Jannot (an Ecological Society, a Trust Society), and Michรจle Rivasi (the Ecological Imperative at the Center of the Political Agenda).

More than the modest number of voters, what should concern the candidates even more is a recent poll on the action of ecologists since 2015.

The result is disheartening: 85% consider it ineffective in terms of the environment.

Furthermore, more than half of those surveyed (exactly 53%) think that an EELV candidacy for the presidential election would be pointless.

This is the consequence of having radicalized the discourse and taking positions that may please the well-meaning but are increasingly incomprehensible to public opinion.

Moreover, the internal battle of egos has clearly shown that the main goal of the various leaders is primarily personal power.

The paradox is this: at a time when the environment is at the forefront of the political agenda, ecologists are excluded from the debate.
