For the first time since March, the number of unemployed individuals in categories A, B, and C has slightly decreased but remains at a high level, exceeding 6 million.
The number of unemployed individuals decreased again (โ4.1%) in July, with 174,300 fewer people registered in category A. This decrease is due, as in May and June, to job seekers returning to reduced activity (categories B and C), according to figures from Pรดle emploi published on Wednesday, August 26.
Following decreases of โ204,700 in June and โ149,900 in May, this marks the third consecutive month of significant decline. However, the number of category A unemployed individuals remains at a high level (4.047 million), after the exceptional increases due to the lockdown (+7% in March, +22% in April), which amounts to 560,000 more unemployed individuals than at the end of February.
