Since October 2020, 140 million euros have been deployed by the Sud region to aid the valleys devastated by Storm Alex.
At the initiative of Christian Estrosi, delegated president of the region, Renaud Muselier, president of the region, aimed to expedite this approach to open up the valleys.
Implementation of buses and TER
Since this Monday, a direct bus line departs every morning from Tende at 6 a.m., arriving in Nice at 8:15 a.m. Reservations can now be made through the OUI SNCF and TER Sud websites.
“I am announcing a real acceleration in opening up the devastated valleys, dedicated to the residents of Roya who work in Nice and need to get there in the morning during office hours,” Renaud Muselier declared.
The Tende-Nice bus will depart one hour earlier, at 8:49 a.m. instead of 9:49 a.m., starting Monday, January 17. This will complement the necessary services to open up the Roya.
The president of the region added that these two experiments will be “renewed and maintained by the region” if proven useful, to continue the approach of opening up the Roya valley.
As a reminder, since October 2020, in addition to the 140 million euros deployed by the region, 60 million euros in European credits have been obtained from the European Union Solidarity Fund.
