UNI 06 is organizing a second distribution of food and hygiene products this Thursday, February 25th at noon, in front of the Colinettes residence (Trotabas law campus).
Precarity, school dropout… It’s time to take action for the UNI 06 association. Faced with the difficult situations that a significant number of students may endure, affected by precariousness, financial problems, or even psychological distress to the point of suicidal thoughts, the association supports these young people by providing food and hygiene products in close collaboration with the Carrefour Lingostière store. A solidarity action, a free distribution for all students.
UNI 06 already conducted a first distribution last week, in front of the Jean Médecin residence in Nice where nearly a thousand students reside. On that occasion, the members of the association distributed 250 food parcels valued between eight to ten euros each. An action that has been fruitful and praised by the department’s vice-president, Bernard Asso.
This Thursday, it’s happening again! UNI 06 is reorganizing a large free distribution for students, this time in front of the Collinettes university residence. No registration or proof required, just come with a good spirit.
“This action is organized in a completely natural way. About fifteen members are participating. We sought help from the Carrefour Lingostière store and the departmental council. With all the food parcels collected for the first distribution, we realized there were still a large number remaining. That’s why we decided to hold a second distribution,” explains Andréa Orabona, head of UNI 06.
The distribution will start at 12 PM, in front of the university residence, next to the law school.
