The Victorine Studios were established in 1919, making them one of the first French film studios. However, in recent years, almost no films have been shot within the grounds of the Nice studios.
Revived by the City of Nice, which took over management in November 2017 to give it a new lease of life, the Victorine Studios have initiated several initiatives, especially with a future perspective.
Among these, a “training” branch is developing. The ENS Louis-Lumiรจre already offers professional training for cinema careers. In partnership, the Conservatoire of Nice and the Parisian school Cours Florent will organize introductory and advanced workshops on acting in cinema within the studios, allowing pre-professional cycle students to acquire new skills in cinema professions.
Starting in April, there will be workshops reserved for Conservatoire students and others open to everyone aged 17 and over, with no prerequisites. The trainees will learn to feel more comfortable in front of a camera.
This workshop could even become their entry ticket to Cours Florent for the following year. The school has campuses in Paris, Brussels, Montpellier, and Bordeaux.
