Covid-19: still nearly 6,000 patients in ICU, decrease in deaths and infections

The number of Covid-19 patients in intensive care showed a slight increase this Sunday, remaining just under 6,000, while the number of new infections and new deaths is decreasing, according to figures published by Public Health France.


This figure is below the peak of the first wave in April 2020 (around 7,000) but higher than that of the second wave in the fall (4,900).

The total number of Covid-19 patients hospitalized is at 30,287, compared to 30,100 on Saturday. 881 people have been hospitalized in the past 24 hours, compared to 1,368.

Regarding deaths, 145 people have died from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, compared to 220 the day before.
