Juan-les-Pins, the “hometown” of jazz in Europe, celebrates its 60th anniversary.

As the oldest jazz festival in Europe, the Antibes Juan-les-Pins International Jazz Festival “Jazz ร  Juan” is an integral part of French and European culture and heritage.

Since its inception in 1960, “Jazz ร  Juan” has remained an open and evolving festival throughout the decades. It’s difficult to list all those who have performed in the magical setting of the Gould pine grove.

After a year of frustrations and hardships, “Jazz ร  Juan” retains more than ever the visceral instinct of its own legend and fully intends to celebrate both the anniversary of its beginning and the dawn of a new decade.

Besides the festival itself, Antibes resonates to the sound of jazz, of all kinds of jazz, through various exhibitions, Street Art demonstrations, and, of course, concerts in the town squares and streets. With an exceptionally rich “Jammin’ Summer session,” it continues to be more than ever a platform for encounters and creative freedom, a unique playground for artists.

“One becomes young at 60,” as Picasso said. This is certainly true for “Jazz ร  Juan.”
