Ahead of the marathon, the city of Nice, in collaboration with elite athlete Cristophe Pinna, is offering a series of training sessions called โJโme Bougeโ. Registrations are open until June 16th.
Achieving 42.195 km in under 4 hours and 15 minutes? Thatโs the goal of the preparation offered by the four-time world karate champion to the residents of Nice who are interested. This is not the first time Cristophe Pinna has taken on the role of coach. For several years, he has been inviting the people of Nice to “take on all the sports challenges of the Cรดte dโAzur“.
For this 15th edition, he is taking 45 participants under his wing. If you hope to be selected, you have until June 16th at 6 PM to register on this site, sharing in particular the reasons for your motivation: https://jmebouge.nice.fr/. And if you haven’t registered for the marathon yet, you can do so here.
A program of five sessions
The initiative โJโme Bougeโ is returning after a four-year hiatus with a program spanning four months. The champion is planning a series of five training sessions, each lasting three hours, to ensure the participants are ready for Sunday, November 5, 2023, the date of the Alpes-Maritimes Nice-Cannes marathon. In less than six months, the runners will set off from the Promenade des Anglais to finish on the Croisette in Cannes.
The sessions will take place from 9 AM to 12 PM on Sundays: June 25, September 10, September 24, and October 8. They will conclude on October 22, two weeks before the major sporting event.
Who can participate?
Participation in the training program is reserved for residents of Nice. It is important to note that you must be between 18 and 60 years old. Additionally, ensure you can attend all training sessions before registering.
During the meetings, wearing the โJโme bouge!โ t-shirt is mandatory. Finally, the participant must possess a medical certificate โstating no contraindication for competitive running.โ
