The Council of State announced this Wednesday, the 22nd, the rejection of the appeals contesting the privatization of the airports of Lyon and Nice, as the applicants were not, in its opinion, in a position to request their annulment.
The highest administrative authority ruled that the opponents “did not demonstrate a sufficient interest to request the annulment of the decrees and specifications,” the institution explained in a statement.
Two decrees dated March 7, 2016, enabled the transfer to the private sector of the majority of the capital of the companies Aรฉroport de Lyon and Aรฉroports de la Cรดte d’Azur. The tender procedures to designate the buyers were then opened based on two sets of specifications.
The Union of Independent Airline Companies, believing that the privatization of the two airports would challenge the current regime of fees applicable to its members, had requested the annulment of the two decrees and the two sets of specifications.
