As part of the policy for integrating people with disabilities, five days of sports and recreational activities are dedicated to individuals with disabilities.
This festive and friendly event allows people with mental, psychological, physical, or sensory disabilities to be valued through adaptive sports practices, enabling them to experience the same sensations as able-bodied participants.
Each proposed activity, supervised by sports educators and volunteers, is adapted according to each person’s abilities. Participants can thus discover different categories of activities; each group is formed to include participants with equivalent capabilities.
Each workshop will be validated with the awarding of a diploma, a medal, or a trophy depending on the disciplines.
The activities offered include pรฉtanque, blowpipe, boccia, bowling games, sea trip, mountain biking, tandem, push-bike, swimming in an outdoor pool, climbing, tennis/wheelchair tennis, tricycling, Lyonnaise ball, trampoline, fencing, and rugby ball.
The new features of this 2017 edition include molkky (more stable and usable on all terrains), sea kayaking and catamaran sailing (with senior helmsmen from clubs and the nautical base), joรซlette (a chair equipped with a single wheel), hiking, fitness/zumba, and mini-olympics.
A new venue this year: the Fort de la Revรจre departmental park for engaging in outdoor nature activities (APPN).
More than 2,000 people are expected to attend, including children and adults with disabilities, from 53 specialized establishments or associations in the department.
