Last weekend, the Rotary Club Nice Port Lympia celebrated its charter presentation at the restaurant Le Saint-Paul in Nice. This new event is part of the centennial celebration of Rotary in Nice.
The Rotary Club Nice Port Lympia marked an important milestone in its journey during this official ceremony. In the presence of 80 guests, Yves Boyer, governor of district 1730, handed over the charter and badges to the 20 founding members. These members, led by Olivier Tazรฉ, have an average age of 43.
The event was also an opportunity to unveil the club’s official banner, a new creation made by artificial intelligence. Inspired by a vintage style, this banner highlights symbols of Nice: the fishing pointus, the tram, the port buildings, and the surrounding hills. This work reflects a strong link between tradition and modernity.
Three Project Focus Areas for Nice
The Rotary Club Nice Port Lympia plans to develop actions in three priority areas:
- Cyberbullying prevention among young people, by raising awareness in schools and families.
- Intergenerational connection, by strengthening interactions with the elderly.
- The environment, with projects to protect the coastline and reduce food waste.
This new club aims to be an active local player, embodying the values of mutual aid and innovation. Through these initiatives, it will contribute to addressing social and environmental challenges.
With this charter, Rotary in Nice is writing a new chapter in its history. The Nice Port Lympia club, young and rooted in its community, intends to play a significant role in serving the community.
