The city of Nice will create a medical center at 27, rue du Professeur Delvalle. It will also host the headquarters of the Institute RespirERA, dedicated to respiratory diseases. This project combines local healthcare and research. It aims to improve access to healthcare and strengthen prevention in the neighborhood.

The Nice City Council has approved the creation of a medical center managed by the city. It will be located at 27 rue du Professeur Delvalle. This project also includes the establishment of the headquarters for the University Hospital Institute RespirERA, dedicated to respiratory diseases.

This facility aims to strengthen healthcare services in an area of the city where access to medical services is sometimes limited. This project follows a first medical center opened in Saint-Roman-de-Bellet and is part of Christian Estrosi‘s initiative to bring healthcare closer to residents.

The building, located opposite the Pasteur hospital, will also host the University Hospital Institute RespirERA. This initiative combines local healthcare and respiratory health research, thus providing a dual purpose to this space. The medical center, dedicated to general medicine, will help decongest local emergency services. It will improve access to healthcare for residents of the Pasteur and Bon-Voyage neighborhoods.

A research and prevention hub

The University Hospital Institute RespirERA, which will focus on respiratory diseases, will benefit from this strategic location. This research center, supported by the CHU of Nice, the University Cรดte dโ€™Azur, Inria, and Inserm, concentrates on pathologies such as COPD, pulmonary fibrosis, cystic fibrosis, and lung cancers. The site will enable the implementation of innovative prevention and screening measures.

The goal is to offer Niรงois a coherent healthcare pathway centered on prevention and public health. This project aims not only to address immediate healthcare needs but also a long-term challenge: improving the management of respiratory diseases by creating an ecosystem that fosters research and local medicine.

Health professionals and researchers at the Institute will have the opportunity to benefit from this synergy to propose innovative solutions, all while adapting to the needs of the local population. A call for expressions of interest is being launched to recruit practitioners who will participate in this project until January 15, 2025.
