Bonaf, a young comedian from Béziers, performed at the Jazz Comédie Club in Nice.
This is where he showcased the final dates of his first show as a One-Man.
Here are a few words about his journey and his show.
What is your background before this show?
Before, I did a lot of improv at the Paris improv league. I took classes at Cours Florent. I performed this show – my first One-Man – at the Feu de la rampe and the Archipel in Paris. But also in other cities like Avignon, Marseille, and finally in Nice.
Tell me a bit about your show.
I improvise a lot, which means all my shows are quite different, even though I follow a storyline. It’s not really stand-up, and throughout the show, there is a succession of everyday life characters more or less, since at one point I play a sushi…
Why a Comedian?
I don’t really know; I just know that since I was little, I have always entertained people, and I started acting very early on…
Do you have preferred themes? I noticed you talk a lot about everyday topics, particularly the city of Paris.
No, I don’t necessarily have preferred topics; I’m not about controversy or anything, so no. I’m mostly interested in the physical comedy and sound effects that make my show resemble a bit of a cartoon.
It’s a show for everyone, truly. It’s also an interactive show, and both adults and children can enjoy it. Kids like me for all the sound effects and facial expressions I make, and adults may be more interested in the topics covered.
To share an anecdote, in Paris, we used to have a drink with the audience backstage, and thanks to the interactivity, two people got closer during the gathering. It’s a show where you can meet your soulmate or just make new acquaintances.
Do you have people who inspired you to write your shows?
No, although there are comedians I really like, such as Florence Foresti, Gad Elmaleh, etc. But no, I don’t have mentors.
What are the key words that characterize you?
Energy, light-heartedness, crazy! I like friendly, interactive humor.
