Christian Estrosi chooses autonomy: France Audacieuse will become a national political movement.

It was in the air, and will be realized on September 22 during the general assembly: France Audacieuse will transform from a club of mayors and elected officials into a political movement to “make the voice of the territories heard” and “weigh in” on the political debate.

“We have no intention of becoming a political party that puts forward a presidential candidate,” but rather to become “a true interlocutor in major political debates” capable of “weighing in on upcoming reforms,” assured the mayor of Nice, who recently made waves in his (former?) party by suggesting an alliance between the right and Emmanuel Macron.

In reality, it’s a party that doesn’t call itself one. As for the “presidential candidate,” there’s no need for one because there already is one!

The aim for the movement, which claims 6,000 members and 300 mayors, is to “no longer be a club of mayors” but “a movement of citizens, business leaders, unions, associations… involved in security, public health, and even the ecological transition.”

Christian Estrosi aims to be more than “audacious”: “We will become indispensable on all these subjects because it is through us that it will happen.”

It remains to be seen who will follow the mayor of Nice in this adventure, which is not without electoral risk since current elected officials will have to find a list to present themselves in the upcoming consultations that will arrive quite quickly.

For the senatorial elections, the die is cast, but in the spring when regional and departmental elections occur?

To stay in the Alpes-Maritimes, how can one imagine that the departmental president of The Republicans, Eric Ciotti, would include representatives of France Audacieuse on his lists?
