The draw has designated RC Strasbourg as the opponent for OGC Nice in this semi-final. The match will be played at the Meinau on Wednesday, April 22.

The draw held Thursday evening has put OGC Nice on the path of RC Strasbourg for a French Cup semi-final that promises to be closely contested. The Meinau will host this meeting scheduled between the trip to Lille and the one to Marseille. This configuration will impose a third trip for the Red and Black in seven days.

This matchup is part of a series of close confrontations between the two clubs. On the weekend of April 5, OGC Nice will already travel to Alsace for the 28th day of Ligue 1. Three weeks later, the two teams will meet again for a place in the French Cup final. Since the beginning of the year, the two teams have crossed paths regularly: the first league match, played on January 3 at the Allianz Riviera, had launched Claude Puel’s return to the Nice bench and ended in a (1-1) draw.

The context adds a particular dimension to this semi-final. The Nice side have just qualified at Lorient after a tight match, concluded on penalties (0-0, 5-6 AET). This Breton evening extended a dynamic built on tight encounters, often decided in the final minutes or in penalty shootouts like against Nantes in the Round of 16. Strasbourg’s path, meanwhile, has been built at home, with victories against Reims (2-1) then Monaco (3-1), after a large victory at Avranches in the previous round.

Two solid trajectories before a decisive clash

The two clubs enter this semi-final with paths marked by contrasting scenarios. The Eagles alternate between the hot in the Cup like yesterday coming close to elimination with numerical superiority against Lorient and the cold in the league with a series of matches without a win that drags on.

The matches will be held on April 21, 22 or 23. The final schedule will be communicated shortly, but the date of Wednesday, April 22 is already announced for Strasbourg–Nice. This clarification allows both staffs to anticipate a demanding sequence, particularly for Nice, engaged in a series of close trips. Managing the sequence of matches, the ability to maintain a constant level of intensity and adaptation to away contexts will play a central role.

In the other part of the bracket, the winner of the quarter-final between Lyon and Lens will face Toulouse.
