From May 13 to 15, the City of Nice hosted 43 police officers and officials from 15 European cities to launch the first police academy of the PACTESUR2 project.
The City of Nice, leader of the PACTESUR2 project, hosted 43 municipal police officers and officials from 15 European cities from May 13 to 15, including Madrid, Turin, Liège, Vilnius, Xabia, Riga, Gdansk, Tallinn, Bologna, Bratislava, Lisbon, Kordelio-Evosmos, Budapest, Brussels as well as Nice.
This project, led by Nice in partnership with Turin, Madrid, and Liège, along with European organizations, is funded by the European Commission with 2 million euros until September 2025. The goal is to strengthen cooperation and the efficiency of municipal police forces across Europe.
A moment for sharing best practices
The event allowed the attending police officers and officials to share their expertise and exchange best practices. They discovered the innovative urban security tools used in Nice. Additionally, there was a training on the Six C protocol for psychological first aid, providing skills to reduce the risk of post-traumatic stress disorder.
During the closing ceremony, Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice, presented a medal to each delegation. He emphasized the importance of concrete cooperation projects for the future of Europe and proposed the creation of a European network of municipal police forces. This network would aim to continue the work of PACTESUR1, unite the efforts of European cities, and influence legislation to grant new prerogatives to municipal police forces.
