The colors of the rainbow once again illuminated the Promenade des Anglais on Saturday, July 11, on the occasion of the Pink Parade 2026. Organized by the association AGLAE, the Nice Pride March brought together a large crowd who came to celebrate diversity, the visibility of LGBTQIA+ people, and the values of inclusion that characterize this event, which has become an essential part of the summer season on the Côte d’Azur.

Starting from Quai Papacino, at the Port of Nice, the procession made its way to the Théâtre de Verdure in a festive atmosphere, carried along by musical floats, DJ sets, multicolored flags, and numerous participants who came with family, friends, or as part of committed associations. The day then continued with the traditional Pink Party, free and open to everyone.

“The future will be Queer”

For this 2026 edition, the organizers had chosen a slogan resolutely oriented toward the future: “The future will be Queer”.

In their presentation text, they explain that it is no longer just about defending acquired rights, but about fully claiming the place that LGBTQIA+ people will occupy in tomorrow’s society. The message is clear: imagine a future where everyone can freely live their identity, without discrimination or invisibility.

AGLAE sums up this ambition with a powerful phrase:

“We do not dream of a tolerated future. We march toward a future fully inhabited.”

A march between celebration and commitment

While the Pink Parade remains a festive gathering, it also maintains a strong civic dimension. For over twenty years, this event has reminded us that the fights against discrimination, violence, and inequality remain relevant today.

In Nice, the march brings together each year not only LGBTQIA+ people, but also their loved ones, associations, merchants, partner businesses, and many residents who are committed to the values of equality and respect.

AGLAE, a historic player in Nice’s associative life

Founded in the early 2000s, AGLAE is today one of the main LGBTQIA+ associations on the Côte d’Azur. Beyond organizing the Pink Parade, it carries out actions throughout the year in prevention, community health, awareness-raising, and fighting discrimination.

Around it orbit many local organizations, including the LGBTQIA+ Center Côte d’Azur, which coordinates various associative initiatives and contributes to maintaining a particularly dynamic network in the Côte d’Azur region.

A city open to the Mediterranean

The Pink Parade is now part of Nice’s summer landscape. In a metropolis recognized for its international tourist appeal, the event also contributes to the image of an open, cosmopolitan city committed to respecting diversity.

This 2026 edition had a particular resonance, a few days before the commemoration ceremonies of July 14, 2016. For an afternoon, the Promenade des Anglais was filled with music, colors, and messages of hope, reminding us that the freedom to fully live one’s identity remains an essential value of a democratic society.
