The ADN association is organizing an event on Saturday, May 23, 2026 that combines sport and awareness of a little-known disease: dysautonomia. The race takes place at Vauban stadium at 3 p.m. and registration is free. This is therefore an opportunity to mobilize around an essential cause.
Dysautonomia is a disorder affecting the autonomic nervous system which controls heart rate, breathing and blood pressure, among other things. It can cause fainting, vomiting, and intense fatigue and affects all ages. However, this disease is often unknown, which can lead to delayed diagnosis and treatment for those affected. According to Rosanna, an ADN member, “every time we talk about the disease, we realize that nobody knows it.”
This is how a small group of students founded the association, led by a president who herself suffers from this disorder. Since December 2025, what started as a simple university project has become a commitment they care deeply about. Their objective is therefore to raise awareness of dysautonomia by informing people through educational posts but also through events: “we wanted to match our studies with a cause that really touches us.”
An engaged race
The association had already organized an event at Stockfish, raising funds for research. This time it invites people to support the cause by completing as many stadium laps as possible. Participants will be able to learn more about dysautonomia, enjoy a snack and win prizes at the end of the race. Of course, everyone participates at their own pace, the goal being to share a unique moment in a friendly and supportive atmosphere.
The organizers chose this format because it is a type of event they had already participated in and which seemed ideal to them for raising awareness while bringing the public together. Around thirty people are already registered, an encouraging figure just days before the event.
As a resident of the Côte d’Azur, this is the time to make heard a cause that deserves to be visible and to support those who live with this disorder.
By organizing this race, the ADN association reminds us that awareness raising is just as essential as fundraising. “Even if people don’t donate, what’s important is that they know about the disease”, said Théo, general secretary of the association. On May 23, each lap of the stadium will be a way to support this cause and help make the disease finally visible.
