The plaque on the biodiversity of the protected marine area of Cagnes-sur-Mer will be unveiled in the presence of all the partners.

This panel project was carried out as part of an Urban Social Cohesion Contract (CUCS) by the Moana diving club of Cagnes-sur-Mer, in association with local youth, during their leisure activities within the Youth Service of the town of Cagnes-sur-Mer.

Let us recall that the protected marine area of Cagnes-sur-Mer, covering an area of 9 hectares, located at the mouth of the Loup, is jointly managed by the General Council, the town of Cagnes-sur-Mer, the Prudโ€™homie de pรชche of Cagnes-sur-Mer, and the Local Committee of Marine Fisheries and Marine Breeding of Nice. This marine reserve is part of an approach for the conservation of fishery resources and biodiversity, support for local professional fishing, and public awareness of the marine environment.

The department of Alpes-Maritimes has four protected marine areas totaling 134 hectares: Cagnes-sur-Mer, Beaulieu-sur-Mer, Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, and Vallauris-Golfe-Juan, where fishing, diving, or anchoring is prohibited.
These reserves are entirely dedicated to the protection and reproduction of species. They are the nurseries of the sea.
