Were you looking for a sports activity for your children? The Cavigal Nice Basket organized the Summ3r Nice Bask3t on June 18th. The program included basketball, music, and more basketball.
The aim of the Cavigal Nice Basket is to make this tournament accessible to all young participants. According to Angélina Nikolova, the club’s communications officer, “the objective of this tournament is to popularize basketball. We want to show that it’s a sport of freedom: you just need a hoop!”
Please note, this tournament is exclusively reserved for those aged 10-19 to “discover new talents.” All within an urban, friendly, and dynamic setting: the Vauban stadium!
About twenty volunteers organized this tournament. On June 18th, 2011, it brought together 70 participants, divided into several categories according to their age. The youngest on one side, the middle-aged category on the other, and the older age group in the center. They competed behind the ice cream stand and the DJ.
A tournament only organized in the summer. Why? Angélina has the answer: “in winter, the championship takes up all the time from September to June.” Knowing that the women’s team is moving up to the first division, we can say she’s right! The championship takes precedence. The Summ3r Nice Bask3t can wait another year. Indeed, there will be no other tournaments this year. “It will be different next year!” promises the communications officer.
