Nice Méridia is one of the major projects of the Eco-Valley of the Var plain. Its ambition is to propose a new model of development that reconciles economic dynamism, innovation, and respect for natural resources and biodiversity.
Involving residents continuously in the success of the Eco-Valley projects is a constant commitment of the EPA Plaine du Var, the State, and partnering local authorities.
Nice Méridia, the first urban technopolis, innovates by its ability to centralize economic activities in a dense and lively urban fabric at the heart of the Metropolis and to spread across the entire territory.
Thus, the Grand Arénas located to the south and the future eco-district around the Allianz Riviera Stadium located to the north provide Nice Méridia with an ambitious overall perspective. Just three tram stations from the airport and a few hundred meters from the Nice-Saint Augustin multimodal exchange hub, Nice Méridia will have exceptional accessibility.
Nice Méridia, the future urban technopolis, will be a development space for R&D and training, particularly in the sectors of green growth, environment, and health. Located right in the city center, unlike existing technopoles which are all located in the periphery, Nice Méridia has a unique character in France.
One of Nice Méridia’s main strengths is its combination of the specific advantages of peri-urban technopolises with the benefits of urban location where everything is accessible.
In keeping with all projects launched within the Eco-Valley framework, the principle of urban diversity is a foundational element of the project. Nice Méridia will exemplify this commitment by offering functional, building, and social and generational diversity.
The first operational perimeter includes 160,000 m2 of housing, 38,000 m2 of educational facilities, 100,000 m2 of tertiary spaces including offices and R&D activities, 22,000 m2 of local services and shops, making a total of 320,000 m2, plus 10,000 m2 of offices already completed at Nice Premium. The aim is to create a focal point by grouping a large number of professions around several research areas, allowing them to benefit from each other. Ultimately, the project aims to develop over 200 hectares.
Anchored in the driving principles of the Eco-Valley, the urban technopolis of Nice Méridia is committed to respecting and enhancing its environment. The eco-district so combines intense urbanization with the strong presence of nature, which underscores the strength of the project.
