Anticor version Presidential Election 2017: Candidates, stand up

Latest News

After their university event yesterday in Nice, Anticor is taking action, propelled by the 2017 Presidential election: “For this election, we are no longer having candidates sign a charter but rather the voters (There are about ten commitments such as, for example, the non-accumulation of mandates, the end of privileges, transparency, or open data.) It’s up to the voters to choose the right candidate,” assured Jean-Christophe Picard, the president of this association.

Nice Premium: What, then, are the important subjects to address according to Anticor?

Jean-Christophe Picard: Subjects as important as corruption, waste, tax fraud, and tax evasion need to be addressed, but they never are concretely. If we don’t fight against the current issues, we will again see a protest vote which will not be constructive. At the European level, according to various organizations, corruption costs between 200 and 1,000 billion euros each year. Waste amounts to around 200 billion, tax fraud between 1,000 and 2,000 billion, and tax evasion at 500 billion euros.

What do you expect from the candidates in the 2017 presidential election?

JCP: We want the candidates in the presidential election to speak out and take positions on these subjects. Transparency brings trust and a quality of life that we need in France during these gloomy times. The State and the future president must protect whistleblowers.
