The new Head of Communications for Christian Estrosi challenges the Front National opponents.

The arrival of Franck Louvrier, a former senior executive at Publicis and especially Nicolas Sarkozy’s “Mr. Communication” for 15 years, as the director of communication and institutional relations for the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis raises questions. His mission, which he will carry out from Paris, prompts Christian Estrosi’s opponents to wonder what his actual role will be.

“Promote our Metropolis… or promote Christian Estrosi?!” ask Marie-Christine Arnautu and Philippe Vardon, elected members of the National Front, who are well acquainted with the Mayor of Nice’s habits.

“Indeed, according to all published articles, Franck Louvrier intends to leverage his ‘experience in terms of political communication,’” they comment, before posing a second question: “Could his hiring have more to do with upcoming municipal and metropolitan elections than with our territory?”

But the two political leaders don’t stop there: “We will be extremely vigilant regarding Mr. Louvrier’s role. Already, in the interest of transparency, Marie-Christine Arnautu—in her capacity as a municipal and metropolitan councilor—has written to Christian Estrosi’s office to request information on the new director’s remuneration, as well as his detailed job description.”
