Storm Alex, 1 Year Later: National Launch of the Comic Book “The Storm”

Latest News

After the success of the charity single “Nos Vallées,” it is now the turn of the comic book “La Tempête Alex, Chronicle of a Catastrophe” to be released in support of the victims of Storm Alex.

“La Tempête” traces, almost hour by hour, the drama of Storm Alex, which devastated the Maralpine valleys a year ago. Through numerous testimonies, the authors describe the unfolding of the events of October 2nd last year, as well as the weeks that followed.

They also briefly recount how these valleys are coming back to life thanks to the reconstruction work carried out everywhere, both by public authorities and by the residents themselves.

This album is a tribute to the victims of this terrible disaster, to the residents of the valleys, to volunteers from all over the country, and to public institutions that have been tirelessly working since the early hours of this drama.

The Department has partnered with Éditions du Précurseur to make this original work possible, aiming at three objectives: to bear witness to this national tragedy in a form that is accessible, high-quality, and appealing to the general public; to serve as an educational tool about extreme phenomena for schools over the long term; and to provide substantial help to the affected populations by donating a portion of sales from bookstores.

This album will be on sale in French and Monegasque bookstores starting October 6, 2021. From the sale of the comic book (€16.90), €5 will be donated to the Alpes-Maritimes Departmental Fund for the victims of Storm Alex.
