After presenting the exclusive partnership between Les Petits Frères des Pauvres and Nice Premium, it is now time to discover what Aline felt during her day at Parc Phoenix.
During this day, Aline was accompanied by Anaïs, a volunteer from Les Petits Frères des Pauvres. Journalists Bilal and Delphine were also by her side. This outing was an opportunity for Aline to find a source of inspiration for writing an article. Thus, in the manner of a diary, Aline recounts in her own words the memory of this gentle autumn day.
“Anaïs called me to offer me to participate in a journalism workshop. Interested, I attended a meeting at the Nice Premium office with a view to writing an article. I was happy to be here with Michèle*. I enjoyed a conversation in the sun with the volunteers and the two young journalists. We were looking for a theme for the article. Two weeks later, I went to discover Parc Phoenix, which I did not know. Before the entrance, I observed those concrete offices that made me think of ‘glass cages’. The iconic peacock of Parc Phoenix was strolling in front of me, freely, to my greatest delight. Anaïs and the young journalists joined me, and we headed toward the entrance gate. I immediately felt the contrast between this expanse of green and the gray of the buildings. The day was beautiful, and the timing was very opportune. First, we watched the otters through plexiglass. They amazed me with their thirst for play.”
A Timeless Journey for Aline
“We wandered through this bucolic setting, moving from fauna to flora. I photographed the flowers that inspired me and those whose names Delphine and Anaïs told me. Taking close-up photos of plants fascinates me. The photographs of these flowers remind me of the paintings I would not know how to paint. We came across a second peacock while Bilal, the journalist, was enjoying his panini. Upon entering the greenhouse at Parc Phoenix, I felt like I was traveling; I was no longer in Nice. Seeing all those exotic trees was a first for me. I was greatly moved by the marmosets, otters, and wallabies. I was intrigued and amused by the smallness of the marmosets. I thought we could add discreet cameras to observe them better… However, I was disturbed to see flamingos and ostriches in such restricted spaces.”
A Delightful End of the Day
“After visiting the greenhouse, we went to have a coffee in the heart of the park. I found this little break very pleasant. I enjoyed this moment of sharing under the October sun. This gentle day was thus coming to an end. We searched for the exit. But, we got it wrong. In our confusion, we took a path that led us to the park’s farm. There, there were various farm animals, including miniature horses, the Fallabellas! (Thank you Bilal!). Our bursts of laughter disturbed a well-to-do pig in the middle of a nap. Finally, we found the exit. Then, I wanted to go see the sea.
Thanks to Les Petits Frères des Pauvres and Nice Premium for making me discover this park. Anaïs made me so happy.”
