Odysséa Cannes returns for the eleventh edition.

Latest News

After a year of absence, ODYSSEA Cannes is back in the circuit for its eleventh edition. On the agenda are a one-kilometer race for children, a timed ten-kilometer race, and a five-kilometer solidarity run/walk, featuring a new seaside course. These events are sure to delight the 3,000 participants expected this year, all within a festive and warm atmosphere.

Organized for 16 years and now taking place in 10 host cities, the Odyssea races and walks continue to collect funds to support breast cancer research, thanks to the association.

Since its creation in 2002 by Frédérique Quentin (a former athlete of the French national athletics team) and Frédérique Jules (a physiotherapist), the association has donated over 6.2 million euros to the fight against breast cancer, thanks to the participation of 523,000 participants.

The relationship between ODYSSEA and Cannes is not new. It has been a connection lasting 11 years.

For the 2017 edition, ODYSSEA Cannes has been completely revamped. The course is new, running along the seaside and through the heart of Cannes, allowing participants to enjoy the scenery throughout their effort. This is truly a case of combining the useful with the pleasant. The Village will be located this year on Boulevard du Midi-Louise Moreau.

Participants will have several race options. On the agenda are the “I run for mom” one-kilometer race for children, the five-kilometer solidarity run/walk, and a timed ten-kilometer race. A packed program in which everyone can find something enjoyable, all within a festive atmosphere.

However, the beneficiary associations remain the same. The funds raised will be shared among three local associations: Défi de Femme, Toujours Femmes Pays de Grasse, and SOS Breast Cancer PACA. This year, the goal is to gather 3,000 participants in Cannes. This mobilization would allow for 10,000 euros to be donated to these associations.

Over 10 editions, the generosity of Cannes has enabled the collection of 72,700 euros. These funds have been used to invest in various programs to improve the daily lives of people affected by the disease and to advance research.
