This restoration, carried out by ÉCLAIR CLASSICS with the assistance of the French Cinematheque and the National Center for Cinema and Animated Image, was supported by the Matisse Museum Nice and the departmental museum Henri Matisse – Le Cateau-Cambrésis.

Shot during the winter of 1945-1946 in Paris and Vence, this documentary traces the universe of Henri Matisse and contributes to the dissemination of French modern art, notably in the United States. Nice Opera: Ballet “After the Rain” Celebrates Contemporary Dance

The Ballet of Nice Opera presents a unique program bringing together two works with opposing perspectives on the human condition. Dancing on the Front Porch of Heaven by Ulysses Dove (1993) delves into intimacy and silence, on a composition by Arvo Pärt. This first presentation in France pays tribute to the losses from the AIDS crisis and reveals a radical and refined choreographic writing.

Conversely, Petrichor by Pontus Lidberg opens outward to life. Set to a concerto by Philip Glass, this ballet combines fluidity and precision, transforming classical technique into a celebration of rebirth and desire. An intense evening, between emotions and virtuosity, not to be missed for contemporary dance lovers in Nice!
