Two weeks after Loana’s disappearance, a ceremony open to the public was held this Friday, April 10th, at the Sainte-Réparate Cathedral. Family, friends, and anonymous attendees gathered for a final farewell marked by emotion and respect for the expressed wishes.
The Sainte-Réparate Cathedral, in the heart of Nice, hosted a crowd this Friday morning that came to pay tribute to Loana Petrucciani. The ceremony, organized from 11 a.m., took place in an emotionally charged atmosphere. Two weeks after the announcement of her passing, friends and the public came together with a united spirit.
Entrance was permitted for fans. This choice was in line with the wishes expressed by the reality TV star. In front of the building, bouquets of white and pink flowers were laid. A deliberately chosen harmony to accompany this moment. The coffin, pink in color, was then carried inside under silent gazes.
More than 400 people took their places inside the cathedral. The doors closed shortly after the start of the ceremony, scheduled for 11:15 a.m. Inside, a sense of contemplation quickly set in.
Among the first present was Eryl Prayer. A long-time close friend, he arrived ahead of the ceremony. Dressed in black and accompanied by a bodyguard, he, who was considered the best friend, couldn’t hold back his tears even before the coffin arrived. It was a scene marked by sadness, observed by several witnesses.
Other notable figures were also seen. Alexia Laroche-Joubert, Benjamin Castaldi, Jérémy Bellet, and Laurent Amar were spotted upon their arrival, as was Eric Ciotti. All wished to honor a figure associated with the history of reality TV in France.
A ceremony true to the expressed wishes
At the entrance of the cathedral, a portrait drew attention. It was an image taken after her victory in the show Loft Story. This choice was not left to chance. Her entourage wanted to highlight a specific memory associated with a significant period.
A few days after her disappearance, Jordan de Luxe mentioned this wish on a television set. “She told me, if one day I leave, I would just like people to remember the photo that looks most like me, which made me the happiest – it’s the one where she greets the crowd in a car on the Champs-Élysées (…) She told me, ‘I would like that to be the only thing remembered about me’ because I think about this photo constantly.” This choice was respected. The portrait remained visible throughout the morning. Visitors paused to see it before entering.
Inside, the ceremony alternated between speeches and musical moments. Loana’s mother, Violette Petrucciani, spoke. Words were addressed directly to her daughter. “We never cut the umbilical cord. We were inseparable. I’m happy to have been your mom. You’ll always be my little one. I love you dearly. May this day be filled with love for you.”
The priest also addressed the assembly with a few words: “Tears are a sign of love, of tenderness. Shedding a tear is the greatest gift you can give to someone, and that is what you are doing now for Loana.” The ceremony lasted about an hour.
A final farewell in music
At the end of the service, the coffin left the cathedral to the sound of Marc Lavoine’s Comme je t’aime played on the organ. Participants remained silent as it exited.
The body is to be cremated afterward. This step will occur privately, in accordance with the wishes previously expressed.
Loana’s disappearance was announced on March 25th. The body was discovered in an apartment located in Nice. Emergency services were alerted by a neighbor. According to reports from the public prosecutor, the autopsy concluded with “a superficial scalp wound consistent with a fall from body height to the ground.”
This Friday’s ceremony marks a step for both the close ones and the public. A shared moment, in an open venue but within a structured setting. A final tribute organized in respect of the wishes expressed before her passing.
