Elodie Jomat: A Ségolène Royal in the Nice legislative elections?

Latest News

For the incumbent candidate, this controversy is premature: “I have the responsibility to make the left win in the 3rd constituency. Therefore, I aim to be the candidate of the broadest possible union! It is quite clear that depending on the personalities and parties that join me, my campaign committee, my support committee, and the name of my deputy may evolve. Obviously, nothing will be decided without JFK, who, as a friend and general councilor elected in one of the cantons of the constituency, will play a key role alongside me.”

Today, Élodie Jomat declares herself ready to take on the challenge of an election that will place the outgoing UDF deputy, Rudy Salles, in her path and, perhaps, depending on future electoral negotiations, a UMP candidate.

In short, a lot of work lies ahead for this Nice native, supported by the Socialist Party, who is starting her campaign very early “to have time to engage in dialogue with as many people as possible.” She announces that she will be “a useful deputy” because “being a member of a political formation that could belong to a majority, she will be able to implement her program aimed at enabling better living together.”

This former student of the IUT of Nice, now a store manager, has made “Modern Republic” her slogan. She thus proposes to modernize practices (respecting political ethics and involving citizens in decisions), modernize the institutions (through the advent of a VIth Republic and the revitalization of European construction), and modernize laws (by establishing equality of opportunities, strengthening solidarity, and establishing new freedoms). She particularly insisted on the defense of the environment “which must be imposed on all political decision-makers but also on all business leaders.”

She concludes by giving us her definition of the modern Republic she proposes: “it is simply the Republic we all dream of; a Republic that is not just made for taxpayers, the governed, users, clients, voters… but a Republic made by and for citizens!”

Following her candidacy, Élodie Jomat also presented her new campaign website, which she wanted to be participative. Indeed, the PRG candidate’s interventions are open to reactions from Internet users who can also submit questions directly with just a click.

A member of the departmental campaign committee of Ségolène Royal, Élodie Jomat is part of this new generation of politicians who, apart from rejuvenating, are becoming more feminine by the day.
