Il Gioiellino by Andrea MOLAIOLI
Set amid current affairs, this film recounts the emblematic Parmalat scandal (2004) that sentenced the agro-food company’s leaders for fraudulent liquidation, leaving shareholders and investors in dismay.
Since then, what was considered the biggest financial scandal in Europe after 1945 has spawned others even larger than itself.
The title of the film comes from a phrase supposedly uttered by one of the real protagonists of the Parmalat collapse: “Apart from this 14 billion hole, the company is a little gem.”
Andrea Molaioli, part of the new generation of Italian filmmakers, previously assisted filmmakers Nanni Moretti and Daniele Luchetti.

The Mosquito Net by Agustiโ VILA
A depiction of a wealthy urban family, whose members are plagued by a vague sense of guilt: the mother towards her son, the father towards the housekeeper, and the son towards all forms of animal life.
An intrusion into the intimacy of a family obsessed with the idea of a perfect life but confronted with its own failings.
Caustic, with biting and uninhibited humor, The Mosquito Net is the second feature film by this Catalan director, who began with shorts and documentaries.
Golden Antigone of the Cinemed Montpellier, Grand Prize of the Karlovy Vary Festival, First Plans of Angers…
